The course consists of a total of 6 modules. Module 1 consists of a short introduction to the course. Modules 2 and 3 pertain to etiology and treatment of Depression and Anxiety. It includes Medication Guides (which medications to use when, common side effects, contraindications, etc. - includes SSRIs, SNRIs, Anxiolytics, Atypical Antipsychotics, Mood Stabilizers) along with Lifestyle Modification handouts for patients in Module 4. You will have 1-2 page guides to keep as a resource in the clinic to refer to quickly (especially when you need to choose a medication for a patient efficiently/safely), and you will have PDF files that you can print/email for patients right at the visit for recommendations like Square Breathing, Therapy Resources, Behavioral Activation, etc. The medication guides in particular have been very popular with participants.
Module 5 pertains to Reproductive or Perinatal Psychiatry - what medications are safe in pregnancy, how to counsel pregnant patients effectively/safely (ensuring they feel empowered), and what symptoms/side effects to look out for. Module 6 is Smart Documentation - this comes with quick phrases you can incorporate into your EMR so it saves you time when documenting on patients with psychiatric diagnoses (common medication adverse effects, suicide risk assessment, etc.).
