Independent Medical Opinions/Nexus Letters for Veterans applying for Mental Health, Neurological, and other Disability Claims
UPDATE 11/6/23 - Waiting List is currently closed, I apologize for the inconvenience.
✅ #1 If you have a Mental Health Condition (PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Insomnia, etc.) or Neurological Condition (Migraine Headaches, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, etc.) that started or worsened during military service. See list below for a snapshot of the primary and secondary conditions I can write letters for.
✅ #2 I currently have a wait list for new clients. Please email me at [email protected] and I will respond back to let you know I added you to the list. The waiting time is approximately 2 months at this time. I apologize for the wait and inconvenience. *NOTE*: Please add "[email protected]" to your trusted email sender list to prevent my message from going to your Junk/Spam folder. Thank you!
What I do is provide an "Independent Medical Opinion" (aka Nexus Letter) which either establishes service-connection for a diagnosis or increases the rating for the diagnosis by indicating how much more severe it has become.
With the package, it includes the record review, video evaluation, and the actual report (along with applicable DBQs). I write very comprehensive Nexus Letters that includes all the pertinent information that the VA looks for. The Veterans I have written letters for have received very good results. I am a Psychiatrist which means I am a Physician who is specialized in Psychiatry. I completed Medical School and I was a Flight Surgeon in the US Air Force for 4 years before specializing in Psychiatry by completing a residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. I can write Nexus Letters about Primary Mental Health Conditions and Secondary Mental Health/Medical Conditions as well (see below for a list of common primary and secondary conditions)
The total cost of the package is $695 - $1200* depending on the number of diagnoses and complicated nature of each case - keeping in mind the below is suggested pricing but may vary depending on amount of past medical records. In general, this is the pricing schematic:
Video Evaluation, DBQ and/or Nexus Letter/Independent Medical Opinion - Level 1 Complexity: $695
Video Evaluation, Nexus Letter/Independent Medical Opinion, and DBQ - Level 2 Complexity: $850
Video Evaluation, Nexus Letter/Independent Medical Opinion, and DBQ - Level 3 Complexity: $995
Video Evaluation, Nexus Letter/Independent Medical Opinion, and DBQ - Level 4 Complexity: $1200
Any Higher Complexity: Fee will be discussed when setting up appointment. This is very rare.
*The exact pricing may be different depending on the amount of past records. The first section of each report is the "Evidence Analysis" section. If there are a lot of medical records to summarize in this section, the fee may be higher than based on number of diagnoses. As always, I will let you know about the total fee before you sign up for the full evaluation.*
I realize this is not a small amount of money but the success rate for my letters is very high and Veterans have found it worth it based on the end results. The prices also reflect the amount of time I put into each individualized report. But before we move forward, please fill out the Intake Questionnaire for a Free Record Review if you're interested in the service. I will create a secure HIPAA folder for you online to upload relevant files for me to review. I don't want you to spend any money unless we can confirm that my letter will actually help you. Also, you don't have to pay anything until after I review your records. This ensures that I can help you before any payment on your part.
Common Conditions Dr. Sharma can write Independent Medical Opinions about:
"Not only did he develop a truly outstanding NEXUS letter but he also developed a Disability Benefits Questionnaire commonly referred to as a 'DBQ'. I am therefore able to submit both documents to the VA for my claim. I know that at least one other company requires an additional fee for a DBQ beyond what would be paid for only a NEXUS letter. I suspect this extra fee for DBQ might be the industry standard. I am grateful Dr. Sharma didn’t charge me an extra fee for this DBQ and I didn’t even have to ask him for it. He volunteered it. Regarding the products he provided me: I was really impressed with the quality of his work. Being a retired Navy nurse, I can say with conviction that what he wrote and how he wrote it was outstanding. It was clear and evident that he went through my records with a fine-toothed comb and connected all the proverbial dots to make his point loud and clear. He was very detail oriented. In all, I could tell that he must have spent at least eight hours and maybe up to 10 or 12 hours doing the records review and putting his thoughts down in a logical and concise manner to capture the whole picture."
